Explore both industry and government level big data initiatives and the strategic opportunities these efforts offer to better align materiel readiness metrics and management to support the overall supply chain needs. In this panel, leaders from both industry and government will describe their efforts to establish the infrastructure, systems, and processes needed to provide more consistent, reliable, and accurate information for data-driven analysis and decision making. Panelists will share insights into progress made, lessons learned, best commercial derivative practices, key obstacles, and near- and long-term opportunities associated with the promise of “big data” solutions as applied to DoD’s sustainment space in supporting the domestic base.

The Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy educates joint warfighters and other national security leaders for strategic leadership and success in assessing national security strategy and in evaluating, marshaling, and managing resources in order to execute that strategy. The Eisenhower School (ES) is an Internationally-recognized, accredited, graduate degree granting, joint professional military education institution uniquely focused on the integration of resources and strategy. The ES curriculum focuses on many of the key themes of the DLA Aviation Industry Day to include concentrations on Supply Chain Management and 19 Industry Studies that focus on the industrial health of key sectors of the economy to include the Aviation Industry, Advanced Manufacturing, and the Maritime Industry. The school proudly graduates approximately 300 senior leaders per year from the Department of Defense, Military Services, Whole of Government and nearly 50 International Fellows. The school sits at a unique intersection of today’s theme “Building Resilient Supply Chains, Revitalizing Domestic Manufacturing and Fostering Growth. BG Curriera will engage in a panel discussion highlighting the Eisenhower School curriculum, the critical importance of educating future senior leaders on the importance of resourcing the Defense Industrial Base and partnering in supply chain resilience. BG Curriera will discuss a renewed goal of adding industry partners to the Eisenhower School curriculum through a focus on private-public-partnerships with industry.

DoD's supply chains are vital to U.S. national security and defense strategy objectives. Our adversaries are mapping the supply chains of our weapon systems to degrade our warfighting capabilities and impair our ability to reconstitute them during a conflict. What efforts are the Department of Defense and Industry undertaking in the broader context of strategic competition with China and other adversaries? How is DOD and Industry assessing supply chain risk to balance new weapon systems and sustaining old ones? This panel will discuss how these efforts could shape future DoD Acquisition and sustainment.
